In 2023, I wrote about why most, if not all, DevOps learning roadmaps are broken! In that post, I've emphasized the importance of what's known as "T-Shaped Skills".
In 2024, I created the Dynamic DevOps Roadmap which has 3 pillers: Progressive, Non-Linear, and T-Shaped, by default. Yet, after the rise of AI, there was a clear shift in the T-Shaped Skills.
Traditionally, the advice was for DevOps Engineers to learn to write high-quality code to deliver better automation, tooling, and engineering practices across the organization. However, in the AI era, there is a clear shift that affects everyone: All Software Engineers should learn DevOps fundamentals to deliver better products and excel in their careers! Understanding how software moves from code to production helps engineers make better technical decisions.
